BJP president Sarbananda Sonowal has kickstarted his polls campaign in Lakhimpur with an appeal to vote for the party to get rid of Congress misgovernance.
The state party unit president landed in Lakhimpur for the first time on Friday after getting ticket to contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Thousands of party workers greeted him as he arrived in the constituency to be taken with a huge procession in the morning.
Talking to reporters, Sonowal said that BJP is confident of victory and that the people of Assam would ensure the win in the upcoming polls.
Lakhimpur along with Koliabor, Jorhat, Dibrugarh will go to the polls on April 7.
