Over 300 KMSS activists were courted arrest in Guwahati on Friday when they staged dharna demanding immediate arrest of Chief minister and revenue minister in connection with the recent self immolation case.
When over 100 KMSS activists started staging dharna at Digholipukhuri in the morning policemen forcibly took them to the Panbazar police station premises.
Hours after it over 200 protesters arrived in the spot and started the dharna afresh. Then security forces sprang upon them and took them away to the police station.
Talking to Assam Times, the protestors who have been camping in Guwahati said that they want Akhil Gogoi to be released immediately.
Apart from demanding chief minister Tarun Gogoi and revenue minister Prithivi Majhi’s arrest, they demanded land pattas to those landless lot living in the forest areas.
