UPPL wins 6,BPF 4 ,BJP 2 in BTC


KOKRAJHAR: UPPL party won six constituencies of the 11 contesting seats while BPF won four seats in the Assam assembly election's results counting today across the four districts of the Bodoland Territorial Region.
UPPL candidate for Sidli constituency of Chirang district, Jayanta Basumatary defeated sitting BPF MLA and three time minister Chandan Brahma by heavy margin of votes.
UPPL candidate for Udalguri constituency and BTC deputy chief Gabinda Chandra Basumatary defeated sitting BPF MLA and two time Assam cabinet minister Rihan Daimary in a huge margin of votes.
In Chapaguri LAC, UPPL candidate Urkhao Gwra Brahma defeated his nearest contesting BPF candidate Hitest Basumatary.
UPPL candidate for Barama constituency Bhupen Boro defeated BPF candidate Prabin Boro while UPPL candidate for Tamulpur constituency Lehoram Boro won showing huge margin of votes against BPF.
In Gossaigaon constituency, BPF candidate Majendra Narzary defeats UPPL candidate Somnath Narzary by 10291 margin of votes.
Narzary got 69790 votes while UPPL candidate Somnath got 59499 votes.
In Kokrajhar West, BPF candidate Rabiram Narzary defeats UPPL candidate Manaranjan Brahma by 12233 votes.
Narzary got 76826 votes while Brahma got 64593 votes.
In Mazbat, BPF chief Charan Boro defeats BJP's candidate Jitu Kishan.
Durga Das Boro of BPF won the Kalaigaon constituency defeating BJP candidate Madhuram Deka.
BJP party won two seats in Panery and Bijni constituencies till filling of this report.
Biswajit Daimary of BJP won the Panery seat defeating BPF candidate Kamala Kanta Swargiary.
In Bijni, BJP candidate Ajay Kumar Roy won defeating his nearest contesting BPF candidate Kamalsingh Narzary by 914 margin of votes till the last round of counting.
UPPL president and BTR CEM Pramod Boro said that this election was people's election and accordingly UPPL party won six constituencies across the BTR districts.
He has extended sincere thanks to all common voters and termed that it was people's winning to get healthy development and welfare of the citizens.
He said that the NDA alliance is forming the government for paving the way healthy in integration among the society in the state

KOKRAJHAR: The ruling partner in the state alliance government, the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has said that the their party is going to participate in the ensuing 2020 BTC general elections. Speaking the reporters at Kokrajhar Press Club on Sunday, AGP leader Subir Chakraborty told that his party was fully prepared to contest the council elections due in March-April 2020 under the alliance spirits of BJP-BPF-AGP in the state. He said that seat sharing discussion will be finalised in due time and party is getting several seats.

KOKRAJHAR: Noted social activist, former leader of All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) and close associate of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma Yamao Jwhwlao Brahma passed away on Wednesday night at a private hospital in Guwahati. KOKRAJHAR: Goreswar Town Football Club of Baksa beat Udalguri's Bhergaon Football Club 4-0 goals to lift the trophy in the final match of the BTAD-Army football premier league-2019 held at Kokrajhar Govt HS & MP School playground, Kokrajhar on Sunday. KOKRAJHAR: An eight-member delegation of  a special review committee on detention center, led by chairman Debojit Mukherjee visited the detention center in Kokrajhar on Tuesday. The delegation members include Debojit Mukherjee, deputy inspector of police (Border) and chairman of the committee, district judge (retired) H Singh, IGP of Prisons Barnali Sharma, D Saikia, AIG of Prisons and several senior police officials.
