UG Brahma takes oath as Cabinet minister

 of Assam cabinet minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma have expressed their excited and happiness having sworn in as Cabinet minister of Assam today in Guwahati.

Brahma was elected to the Assam assembly from Chapaguri constituency on UPPL ticket defeating BPF candidate Hitest Basumatary.

 Elder brother of UG Brahma,Putul Chandra Brahma has extended sincere thanks to the newly sworn chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.

 UG Brahma was hailed from Chalani Batabari near Dotma in Kokrajhar district. Brahma was ex Rajya Sabha MP and former ABSU president.

 Elder brother of Brahma has expressed hopeful that newly formed government will  able to work for massive development and welfare of the citizens across the state.

He said that the new government must dedicate their services towards social integration and mass development in the state.

He said that citizens from the state are wanting healthy welfare and development among the society.

Meanwhile, several organisations of Bodoland Territorial Region including Nath Yogi Students Union,Sutradhar Sanmiloni and SC students union of BTR area have demanded inclusion of Lawrence Islary,MLA from Kokrajhar East constituency of UPPL party in the council of ministers of Assam cabinet which was sworn in today.

Leaders from the organisations demanded early induction of Islary in the Assam cabinet to represent the Kokrajhar district in the state.

Islary defeated senior BPF leader and former Assam minister Pramila Rani Brahma over 20 margin of votes in the assembly elections.

 Leaders urged the UPPL chief Pramod Boro and chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma to induct Islary in the Assam cabinet in days to come.

The All Bodo Students Union welcomes the formation of the New Government by the BJP, AGP & UPPL alliance in the state. 

In a press statement,ABSU president Dipen Boro has extended congratulation the elevated 15th Chief Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and his team of Ministers who have taken oath today.

" The ABSU is hopeful the new Government in Assam will strive for the peace, harmony and all round development of the downtrodden communities and to address their issues and to strengthen the newly formed BKWAC in speedy manner in the state", ABSU said.

The BTR accord has many provisions to be implemented by government of Assam and Center. 

The All Bodo Students of (ABSU) urge the new government under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma as the chief minister will implement the entire BTR Accord clauses for the socio-economic and educational development in the Bodoland Territorial Region in letter and spirit.

The students union also congratulate all the MLAs from UPPL and the elevated two cabinet ministers Urkhao Gwra Brahma from 63 Chapaguri (ST) LAC and  Gabinda Chandra Basumatari from 69 Udalguri (ST) LAC.

ABSU also thank the people of BTR irrespective of communities for massive support in the exercise of democratic process of adult franchise in a peaceful manner and making the strong democracy,the statement said.

KOKRAJHAR: The first-ever Bodoland International accuracy Paragliding championship-2019 began from Monday at Dangdupur Hill, Kokrajhar district. 68 participants, including nine countries, are participating the championship. Kokrajhar: A sea of humanity is seeing along the Samoka Irrigation sluice gate River bank to participate in the community fishing near Bishmuri in Kokrajhar district on Thursday. KOKRAJHAR: Tarang Swrang Club, Taranguri defeated Kokrajhar Veteran Sports Club (KVSC) 2-0 in the final match of 7th edition Jatin Islary memorial running shield football tournament-2019 held on Sunday at Kokrajhar. KOKRAJHAR: The Bodoland University has been accorded with 12B status by university grants commission (UGC) on Friday. The Bodoland University was established through the spirits of BTC accord signed in 2003. KOKRAJHAR: The All BTC Minority Students Union (ABMSU) has demanded proper implementation of the 6th Clause of the historic Assam Accord with letter and spirit. ABMSU also demands clarification of the terms 'indigenous' (Khilongia) which has been marked in the Assam Accord. Speaking to the media at Kokrajhar Press Club on Thursday, ABMSUB president Abu Sayed Anchari and secretary Nazrul Islam said that the people of the state wants properly implementation of the 6th Clause of the Assam Accord which was regarded as a 'raksha kabash' in the state. However, the students union proposes clarification over the terms which stated 'indigenous' .
