UG Brahma takes oath as Cabinet minister

 of Assam cabinet minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma have expressed their excited and happiness having sworn in as Cabinet minister of Assam today in Guwahati.

Brahma was elected to the Assam assembly from Chapaguri constituency on UPPL ticket defeating BPF candidate Hitest Basumatary.

 Elder brother of UG Brahma,Putul Chandra Brahma has extended sincere thanks to the newly sworn chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.

 UG Brahma was hailed from Chalani Batabari near Dotma in Kokrajhar district. Brahma was ex Rajya Sabha MP and former ABSU president.

 Elder brother of Brahma has expressed hopeful that newly formed government will  able to work for massive development and welfare of the citizens across the state.

He said that the new government must dedicate their services towards social integration and mass development in the state.

He said that citizens from the state are wanting healthy welfare and development among the society.

Meanwhile, several organisations of Bodoland Territorial Region including Nath Yogi Students Union,Sutradhar Sanmiloni and SC students union of BTR area have demanded inclusion of Lawrence Islary,MLA from Kokrajhar East constituency of UPPL party in the council of ministers of Assam cabinet which was sworn in today.

Leaders from the organisations demanded early induction of Islary in the Assam cabinet to represent the Kokrajhar district in the state.

Islary defeated senior BPF leader and former Assam minister Pramila Rani Brahma over 20 margin of votes in the assembly elections.

 Leaders urged the UPPL chief Pramod Boro and chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma to induct Islary in the Assam cabinet in days to come.

The All Bodo Students Union welcomes the formation of the New Government by the BJP, AGP & UPPL alliance in the state. 

In a press statement,ABSU president Dipen Boro has extended congratulation the elevated 15th Chief Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and his team of Ministers who have taken oath today.

" The ABSU is hopeful the new Government in Assam will strive for the peace, harmony and all round development of the downtrodden communities and to address their issues and to strengthen the newly formed BKWAC in speedy manner in the state", ABSU said.

The BTR accord has many provisions to be implemented by government of Assam and Center. 

The All Bodo Students of (ABSU) urge the new government under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma as the chief minister will implement the entire BTR Accord clauses for the socio-economic and educational development in the Bodoland Territorial Region in letter and spirit.

The students union also congratulate all the MLAs from UPPL and the elevated two cabinet ministers Urkhao Gwra Brahma from 63 Chapaguri (ST) LAC and  Gabinda Chandra Basumatari from 69 Udalguri (ST) LAC.

ABSU also thank the people of BTR irrespective of communities for massive support in the exercise of democratic process of adult franchise in a peaceful manner and making the strong democracy,the statement said.

ABSU, UPP submit memorandum

Student's body recovered, brutally killed

Ashinta Basunatary's body, a college student, who went missing was recovered from Badrampur jungle, on the other hand a man was brutally killed by unidentified miscreants at Padmabil area under Serfanguri PS in Kokrajhar district today. Ashinta Basumatary was allegedly missing from his East Maligaon village since April 22 and his body was recovered from deep jungle nearby Badrampur village after arrested involved persons confessed about situation. Bodofa UN Brahma remembered

The 26th death anniversary of ‘Bodofa’ Upendra Nath Brahma, who is fondly regarded as “father of the Bodos”, was observed at Tulungapuri, Dotma in Kokrajhar with a day-long programme. Search operation continue for missing student

Police administrstion intensified its search operation to find out Ashinta Basumatary, a college student, went allegedly missing since April 22, along the deep jungle area at East Maligaon and Badrampur in Kokrajhar district on Saturday.  Police arrested three persons in this connection and has been intensified the search operation after revelation about allegedly missing student from arrested persons. NDFB-S link man arrested

Security forces apprehended a link man/over ground worker of NDFB-S militant outfit from Guruphela area under Kachugaon PS in Kokrajhar on Saturday. Based on an input about presence of militant outfit link men in the area, a joint team of police and army raided and able to apprehend the link man along with cash. Aids and appliances distributed in Kokrajhar

Altogether 78 aids and appliances were distributed among differently abled persons at a programme held at Choto Molandubi in Kokrajhar district on Friday. Three arrested in witch-hunting case

Police arrested three persons in connection with the missing of college student Ashinta Basumatary alias Ola, who went missing from his house at East Maligaon in Kokrajhar, since April 22; on the other hand, accused woman for witch left her village to get rid of atrocities and threatens from the situation in the area. Computer training certificate distributed

A total of 22 trainees were given away computer training certificate at a function held at District Computer Centre in Kokrajhar on Friday. Road mishap kills 1, injured three

At-least a person was died and three others received injuries at a road mishap at Didwmpara area on April 17 under Bishmuri police outpost in Kokrajhar district. According to villagers of Dudwmpara off lately, two bikes coming from opposite sides head on collided on April 17 last evening, leaving a person died and others three received injuries .The bikes' registration bearing no.AS16-8974 and AS15B-1367.
