Tripura municipal election 2021 - BJP wins 217 seats

Agartala:  Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is on the verge of registering a landslide victory in the Tripura Municipal Elections. The Trinamool Congress bagged the second highest number of votes after BJP in the Agartala Municipal Corporation.
The BJP has bagged a landslide victory in the Tripura civic polls, winning all 14 urban bodies which went to the polls on November 25. It did a clean sweep of 11 urban bodies, including Agartala Municipal Corporation.

Out of the 222 seats across the 14 urban bodies that went to the polls, the BJP emerged victorious in 217.

CPIM won in three seats across three urban bodies—Kailashahar and Ambassa Municipal Councils and Panisagar Nagar Panchayat.

BJP has established an absolute majority in the 51-member Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC), winning all 51 seats.

Agartala: Tripura DGP Akhil Kumar Shukla has assured a violence free election in the Lok Sabha election throughout the state. Addressing a press in the police headquarter in Agartala on Wednessday Sukla said that the pollice has taken massive security arrangement across the state. Agartala: The State Election Commission of Tripura is going to hold by-election to Municipalities across the state to fill up vacancies of the Urbal Local Bodies on December 22. The state cabinet on Tuesday approved and accepted the recommendations of the three-member P.P.Verma committee on extending benefits of 7th central pay commission for state’s employees and pensioners. In a cabinet meeting, the council of ministers decided to accept and implement the Verma committee recommendations on implementing 7th CPC. The date of effect of the Revision of pay, wages and pension shall be from October 1, 2018.
AGARTALA: In a bizarre move, the Left Front in Tripura has withdrawn its candidate fielded for the Charilam constituency by election alleging an orgy of post poll violence two days ahead of the polls. PRASENJIT SAHA AGARTALA: In a major setback for Left Front in the poll bound north eastern state of Tripura,veteran leader Ramendra Deb Verma, whom the party fielded in Charilam constituency, died a sudden death on Sunday. All party leaders and poll candidates rushed to his residence and paid their last respect to the veteran leader. Chief minister Manik Sarkar who visited the family members deeply condoled the death of the poll candidate.
