Celebrated Assamese dramatist Sewabrat Baruah is no more. One of the finest dramatists of the contemporary era, Baruah passed away last night after a prolonged illness. The news has saddened all Assamese drama-lovers. His demise is mourned by many. A few months ago, he suffered a brain stroke.
Baruah penned a number of memorable plays with dexterity in creating characters. He has also translated Samuel Beckett's wonderful creation “Waiting For Godot” and staged it.
