Rs 240 crore for 7 lakh tea workers

Guwahati: Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman launched distribution of Rs 240 crore to over 7 lakh tea garden workers at a function in Guwahati on Saturday.

All these tea garden workers would get Rs 3,000 each  in their bank accounts.  

In his address state finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the government was in the process of revising the daily wage amount for the tea garden workers very soon.
