Raijor Dal on the doorstep

Guwahati: Altogether 70 local organizations who have been dead opposed to the Citizenship (Amendment) Act,  2019 floated a new regional political party with a vow to whitewash BJP and it's allies in the 2021 assembly polls. 

Named as Raijor Dal( Peoples'Party), it was announced at a largely attended ceremony presided over by award winning film maker Jahnu Barua,  who also is one of the leaders of Sangyukta Anchalik Dallas. 

In his opening speech, Barua said that the various regional parties should remain united to save the state and it's people from the edge.  

"We have seen the unity of these organization which needs to be galvanized into a force that can protect Assam-its identity and culture," said Baruah. 

The new party is preparing pitch in the prepoll political landscape by intensifying anti CAA, and anti-EIA protest apart from mounting pressure on the government to ensure release   of Akhil Gogoi.

Notably,  despite repeated appeal All Assam Students Union and AJYCP did not join the venture and launched AJP. Then the peasant body cobbled support from as many as 70 small organizations to float a new party which was born on Friday.

Guwahati: In a bizzer incident that forces the BJP government to hang it's head in shame,  the state police recruitment board for selection of Sub Inspector has cancelled the statewide written test midway citing leakage of question papers on Sunday. Guwahati: An united regional force against BJP seems to be a distant dream since AJP has little chance to be with KMSS to fight the 2021 assembly polls. Peasant leader Bhaskar D Saikia has urged AJP conveners to take KMSS on board adding that they would wait till September 20 for the response. “We will wait till September 20. Guwahati: Finally, AASU and AJYCP have announced new regional party 6 months ahead of assembly polls. A day after a brainstorming session of the two influential student and youth organizations conveners Basanta Deka and Krishnagopal Bhattacharya said that the new party would be named as Asom Jatiya Party (AJP). New Delhi : In a major reshuffle just before the 2021 assembly polls,  AICC has replaced Harish Rawat from Assam as state party in charge.  Senior Congress leader from Punjab Kuljit Singh will take over as Assam party in charge. CWC has retained former CM Tarun Gogoi and replaced Gaurav Gogoi with former Silchar MP Sushmita Dev.
Peasant leader Akhil Gogoi urged anti BJP parties and forces to remain united. Guwahati: State Congress president Ripun Bora says if the party comes to power it would implement NYAY scheme where BPL families will receive Rs 7500 in a month. Addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Saturday, Bora NYAY will challenge Aronodoy scheme, which the government launched recently promising Rs 830 in a month to 17 lakh poor families.       Bora further said that the BJP-led government announced a slew of schemes despite bad financial condition just to woo the voters for 2021 assembly polls.
