Police launched crackdown on NLFB

Police administration have vowed for a strict operation against NLFB in Kokrajhar district as NIA has so far circulated most wanted and head count Rs. 10 lakh against the leader of NLFB M Batha.

The superintendent of police, Prateek Thube told that the police has started its search operation against the NLFB militant organization along the India-Bhutan border areas of Kokrajhar district.

According to police, they have been keeping a close watch on the NLFB leader, his members. They also told that NLFB militants are reportedly in deep jungle areas.

He said that police administration and security forces have been keeping closed watch on the NLFB cadres as they are reportedly taking deep jungle in the region.

Police administration have made area domination exercises that have been carried out by Kokrajhar police on the Indo-Bhutan border.

Several organistions have expressed resentment over the Centre's move to upgrade the Bodo Territorial Council as Union Territorial Council. According to sources the Centre would soon sign a peace pact with the NDFB . In the pact upgradation of the BTC as a UTC would likely to take place, sources revealed. KOKRAJHAR: Citizens in Lower Assam districts including  Bodoland Territorial Council  have expressed happiness and gladness having found resumed of internet services today after eight days blockade. The internet service was found resumed at 9 am that saw smilling and happiness environment amongst the citizens in the region. KOKRAJHAR: Police arrested five protesters in Kokrajhar on Wednesday who burnt effigies of chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019. Activists and members from All Assam Nath Yogi Students Union carried out a protest demonstration along the JD Road near District Computer centre in Kokrajhar against the CAB bill and burnt effigies of Sonowal and Sarma.
