Mercury soars, temperature sizzles at 38 degree celsius

TANGLA: The temperature crossed 36 degrees on Thursday giving no relief to the people of Tangla town in Udalguri district. The town and its surrounding places  reeled under a scorching sun with people mostly remaining imdoors. As per Accuweather, a google weather app  the maximum temperature in Tangla on Wednesday stood at 38 degree Celsius. The streets of Tangla wore a deserted look throughout the day. Businesses establishments and shop-keepers in the town were seen lazing their time away while the electrical equipments like fans,coolers and Air-conditioners are being sold like hotcakes across the retailers in the town.It was also a good day for the outlets of tender coconuts, soft drinks, ice-creams, and sugar cane juice vendors as they did brisk buisiness on roads with good number of people queing up for sipping on them and reliving themselves.  The humidity level on Wednesday oscillated between 55 % and 73%. Moreover the frequent load shedding throughout the day, added sting to the summer heat irking the residents.

TANGLA, Apr 29: The final match of 3rd Champak Rai Baruah Memorial U-16 Inter school cricket tournament organized by Bhergaon sub-division administration was played here at Tangla H.S playground on Friday.The final match, of the tournament, was played between Tangla English Medium High School(TEMHS) and Tangla Model High School where the former won  won the match by 73 runs and lifted the champion's trophy.  The TEMHS team scored 146 run losing 7 wickets in 20 overs while Tangla Model High School scored 91 runs in 14 overs.
