Kokrajhar Planetarium and Science Centre has been disconnected from electricity supply due to non payment of bills
Electricity to the Kokrajhar Planetarium and Science center was cut off because there's an outstanding bill of 1.83 lakh.
Due to power cutoff, the Kokrajhar Planetarium and Science centre is currently not functional.
Sarbananda Sonowal, former Chief Minister of Assam, inaugurated the Kokrajhar Planetarium and Science centre to facilitate the upliftment of science and technology in the Bodo Territorial Council districts.

Two cadres of Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO) were apprehended in a joint operation launched by police and army today morning at Nepalpara and Debargaon area under Serfanguri PS in Kokrajhar district. They were identified as Mahendra Rai and Viswajit Rai. A riffle, a pistol, two hand grenades and live ammunition recovered from them. They were involved with various anti-social activities, extortion and collection money for the militant outfit in the region.
Four poachers arrested along with tiger skin in Bhuyanpara range of Manash National Park in Baksa district on Tuesday. Fire gutted a new building of main bazaar at Kokrajhar on Sunday night at around 11.30 pm. According to local people fire started from the new building where garbages were kept in heave by Municipality Board under Solid and Liquid Resources Management projects. Fire damaged several properties which was later brought under control with three fire tenders.

The wait for compensation for 2008 Assam serial blast victims does not seem to an end. The Assam and Central governments have failed to fulfill their promises of compensation even after eight years of the blasts, victims expressed their resentment ahead a day of the shocked day of serial blasts on Saturday.
