Food poisoning in Paneri of Udalguri

UDALGURI: At least sixty people including women and childrens ,were admitted for a suspected case of food poisoning in Panery Subsidiary Health Centre in  Panery of Udalguri district on Saturday. They are said to have consumed prasads(offerings) at Pub-Panery Bishnu Mandir as a part of monthly Naam-Prasangas on Friday night following which the devotees including a good number of women and children suffered from dizziness and vomiting in mid-night. The patients were rushed to the health centre where they are undergoing treatment. Students body members and locals in large number also visited the patients to take stock of the situation. "We took part in the naam-prasanga and consumed chickpea and Laddu which were part of prasads,following which I along with my two childrens suffered uneasiness and vomiting", said a patient Lakhi Priya Lahkar. Meanwhile the conditions of the patients are stated to be stable informed attending Ayurvedic doctor Santosh Singh Yadav.

UDALGURI: The Sikh community of Udalguri and Darrang celebrated the 350th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Gobind Singh with religious fervour at Tangla in Udalguri on Friday. They celebrated the occasion at the Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha. Sikh devotees, including women and children, from different parts of the district gathered at the Gurudwara since morning and offered their prayers.Devotees read out the scriptures of Sukhmani Sahib and recited kirtan, which spread the messages of love and harmony among the people. Devotees also participated in Langar (community feasting) on the ocassion.
UDALGURI: The Gorkha students in BTAD areas are not at all happy with BTC. The council has been running without anybody to represent them. TANGLA: Noted Bodo writer Dr.Rita Baro has fetched no less pride to the people of Assam when she was declared the recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Award in Bodo language. Dr Baro has been named for Sahitya Akademi award for her short-novel, 'Thwisam'. TANGLA,Dec 3: Fear psychosis grips the people of Khoirabari two days after the security forces eliminated ULFA top leader Rajen Deka which is shrouded in dire controversy. In yet another brutal incident, a man killed his wife in inebriated condition at Orangajuli tea garden near Panery on Friday morning. Identified as Pada Orang, he hit his wife with a wooden stick over trivial matters on Friday morning who died on the spot. Panery Police immediately rushed the spot and arrested the accused husband.
