Guwahati: Police have detained a youth in Dispur on the basis of a complaint lodged by Zubeen Garg who alleged an attempt of attack on him by a group of goons on Wednesday night. According to the allegation, a group of 6 youths stopped his car and tried to physically assault the singer who was on his way back home at night.
Police have already tracked down the vehicle used by the miscreants. Police have arrested the owner of the vehicle and have been looking for the absconding miscreants. Many organizations and individuals have condemned it.
The singer, who strongly opposed CAA hit media headlines recently for accepting the offer of brand ambassador in the state’s agriculture and allied sectors.

Guwahati: Independent MLA from Sivasagar has strongly objected to the state assembly Speaker’s ruling on cross voting in the Rajya Sabha polls.
Gogoi said that it was not proper for the Speaker to say that nobody could be disqualified for cross voting in the Rajya Sabha polls.
