AKRSU bandh paralise normal life in BTAD

KOKRAJHAR: The 24-hour Assam bandh affected normal life in four districts of BTAD region today called by All Koch Rajbongshi Students Union(AKRSU) in support of demanding Scheduled Tribe (ST) status to the Koch Rajbongshis and reconstruction of kamatapur">Kamatapur state.All kinds of transport communication was remained off since morning in Kokrajhar district.Market,bazar,bank,financial private institutions are also seen closed.Most of the government offices are saw thin attendance on the day.The bandh was started from 5am today.Bandh supporters protested with burning tyres at various places in Kokrajhar, Mushalpur of Baksa district.Tight security arrangements are made in the districts to avoid untoward incidents during the bandh hour. The AKRSU slammed the BJP led NDA government for not taking any initiative to grant ST status and reconstruction of kamatapur">Kamatapur state. President of AKRSU Arun Roy said that the bandh was called to put pressure government for granting ST status and reconstruction of kamatapur">Kamatapur state within Indian constitution through political dialogue in immediate way. He alleged that BJP led NDA government has never want healthy uplift and welfare of the community, so issue and demands are remained unsolved. He said that the students union will continue its movement seeking ST status and reconstruction of kamatapur">Kamatapur state.
