UDALGURI:The All Assam Minority Students' Union(AAMSU) staged a two-hour sit-in-demonstration in front of DC office in Udalguri on Thursday.The programme was held under the aegis Udalguri district committee of the student body strongly voiced against the purported suggestion by National Register of Citizens (NRC) state coordinator,Prateek Hajela to the Supreme Court to exclude five out of the 15 documents from NRC modalities. In a recent report submitted to the Supreme Court, Hajela had purportedly suggested that ten documents out of list “A” documents could be relied upon or introduced afresh by any claimant following his or her claim for inclusion of name in the NRC.The dharna to this effect was addressed by President Phul Mamud,and Secretaries,Mohibul Islam and Ainul Haque. Hundreds of activists rendered the air raising slogans against Hajela state and Union government . The members of the student body also submitted a memorandum to this effect to the Register of India through the office of the Deputy commissioner of Udalguri
