72nd Independence Day Celebrated at Hojai

HOJAI :- Hojai joined the 72nd Independence Day  with much pomp and gaiety on Wednesday.


At District Head Quater Sankardev Nagar Pijush Hazarika, Hon'ble Minister of State, Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Assam hoisted the National Tricolour  and took salute of the March pass by security forces,NCC cadets.

Hazarika also addressed the gathering at Kachari Maiden at Sankardev Nagar. Hazarika was accompanied by Hojai District  Deputy Commissioner Manvendra Pratap Singh,IAS and Superintendent of Police Ankur Jain,IPS on the dais.

Hundreds of people from all walks of life came to witness the programme.

Hojai district administration along with the help of various other departments organised the programme in a befitting manner.

On this occasion, Hojai District Administration  Honoured Jamuna CAD Division.

Pijush Hazarika, Hon'ble Minister of State, Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Assam handed over the Special Recognition as the most Cleanest Office of the Hojai District to Executive Engineer Sanjai Kumar Mahanta, Jamuna CAD Division (Irrigation) for its outstanding contribution in the field of Sawach Bharat Mission in Hojai District.

 Ajmal Foundation  was also honoured by Hojai District administration for its outstanding contribution in the field of Skill Development.

Pijush Hazarika, Hon'ble Minister of State, Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Assam presented the Special Recognition certificate to Mr Khasrul Islam, General Manager, Ajmal Foundation and DGM Dr. MRH Azad.

 Cultural events were also organised where students from different schools,colleges and NGO's performed.

At last Prizes for different competitions organised in last few days were presented.

Almost all the school, College, government office's and social organisation of Hojai district celebrated this day with much enthusiasm.

Hojai: More than 2000 people took to the streets in Nilbagan area in Hojai on Monday evening demanding justice for the Asifa Bano along with other victims of sexual crimes across the country. With banners and play cards, the youths took out the candle light march at the initiatives of the local youths of Nilbagan which ended at the Tinali. Hojai: The Hojai police have arrested 3 people for using false documents to update NRC. Identified as Subhas Das, Raju Das and Hemanta Nath, they were arrested before sending to jail on Saturday acting on a complaint of using false legacy data to the NRC officials. The police on Friday received a complaint from Ratan Das of Gobindapally  alleging that the trio have used his father’s legacy data to update NRC which came to light  during the ongoing family tree verification process. Hojai: The Daboka Police in Hojai caught two notorious car lifters acting on a false complaint filed by the duo on Thursday. Identified as Aamir Hussain and Emamul Hussain, they lifted a car and sold it in Dimapur and lodged an FIR at Daboka Police Station on Wednesday alleging that their Bolero Pick Up AS 02 BC 1459 was forcibly taken away by robbers at Shalbagan area as they were going towards Dimapur. HOJAI: The Doboka police in Hojai is looking for Jotan Debnath a day after he tried to kill his niece for failing to sexually exploit her. The incident took place on Tuesday at a tiny hamlet in Doboka were Juton tried to rape the minor girl in the evening in the absence of her parents. As he tried to assault her for refusing compromise, the victim ran out of her home to be rescued by the police who have registered a case. Hojai: Hojai MLA Shiladitya Dev blames it all on the erstwhile Congress government in Dispur for the scarcity of potable water in the district.Addressing a press conference in Hojai on Sunday Dev said the public health engineering department undertook a huge scheme in 2007-08.
