3 of a family gets lifer for murder

UDALGURI: In a significant judgement the court of Nirmali Talukdar,Additional District & Sessions Judge, Udalguri sentenced three members of a family to rigorous life imprisonment on Wednesday.The trio Gyanendra Das,Chintarani Das and Utpal Das were accused in a murder case vide Kalaigaon PS case no.23/2012 under sections 341/302/34 of IPC.Reportedly, on the evening of March 18,2012 one Sailendra Das was on his way back to home on his bicycle when he was accosted by a group of unruly people armed with sticks and sharp  weapons brutally attacked the person leaving him in critical state,he later succumbed to his injuries in Mangaldai Civil Hospital.Based on an F.I.R by the brother of deceased police registered a case and swung into investigation and arrested the three members of a family.After years long trial the trio were convicted by the court.
