World Environment Day observed at Rangaloo

Gram Vikas Parishad (GVP) a leading NGO of the North Eastern region in association with Aryabhatta Science Centre, Rangaloo; Nagaon observed ‘World Environment Day’ on h June 5. To mark this occasion a day long programme was arranged at GVP’s head office, situated at Rangaloo in Nagaon district The day started with a tree plantation programme at 9 a.m. followed by drawing competition among the school students at 10 a.m. and an open session from 11 a.m. The open session was presided over by Md. Abdul Mannaf, President, GVP. Rangaloo High School’s Asstt. Teachers respectively Najmul Ali, Ashwini Kr. Paul and Abdul Hasim, Asstt. Teacher Rangaloo M.E. School were present in the open session. After the felicitation part of the guest invitees and welcome address by Abdul Mannaf, Najibur Rahman, Co-ordinator Aryabhatta Science Centre Rangaloo elaborately conveyed the reason behind observing “World Environment Day”. He also delivered some informative speech regarding Environmental Hazards and its adverse impact on human life. Post lunch session was included with prize distribution programme followed by a small act presentation on environment by the Staff members of GVP. The day long programme concluded with vote of thanks from the organizers. Approximately 300 nos. of people gathered at the Gram Vikas Parishad premises enjoyed each and every part of the day long events. On the other hand the day was also celebrated by the School for Working Children at Moirabari in Morigaon district run by GVP through tree plantation programme, cleaning operation and an environment related awareness camp.
