ULFA bandh cripples normal life

The ULFA sponsored statewide shutdown call ended peacefully on Saturday. ULFA’s the anti- talk faction led by Paresh Baruah to gave the call to oppose Sonia Gandhi’s visit to participate in the first anniversary function of the Gogoi Government.

The group also triggered a bomb blast in Tinsukia district Friday night killing one person. Amid tight security arrangements, Gandhi, as scheduled, addressed a huge gathering at Sarusojai stadium. The stadium was the venue for the celebrations of the Congress government's first anniversary of its third consecutive term in the state.
