Trader escapes from captivity

A businessman managed to escape in Karbi Anglong district from the kidnappers two days after he was whisked away at gunpoint.

Identified as Bijoy Das, the wine shop owner has reached his home at Rajapara on Wednesday wee hours giving a sign of relief to his family members and relatives.

He is understood to have escaped from his captivity in Dhansila. He was kidnapped on Monday by a few gunmen forcing police to launch an intensive operation in the area.
