Tangla students excel in quiz and debate at Udalguri Youth Festival

The Udalguri Youth Festival, which was inaugurated on April 23 by Maj.Gen NS Ghei, GOC, Red Horns Division, witnessed more spectacular events like inter school debate and quiz competitions on April 24. Thaneswar Malakar, Deputy Commissioner, Udalguri inaugurated both the competitions at Harimu Bhavan in presence of Col. Sunil Upadhyaya, Commanding Officer of 315 Field Regiment (KARGIL). In debate section Donbosco School, Tangla and Tangla College won gold and silver medal respectively. In inter school quiz competition, six schools namely-JNV, Kalaigaon; JNV, Udalguri; Arunodoi Academy, Tangla; TEMHS, Tangla; Donbosco School, Tangla and RAMES, Udalguri took part in the final round. TEMHS,Tangla students won the gold medal while Arunodoi Academy, Tangla students won silver medal. Jayanta Chakravorty, lecturer of Tangla College and Director of TEMHS conducted the quiz competition. Thaneswar Malakar,Deputy Commissioner, Udalguri gave away the medals to the winners at the end.On the occasion he requested the students of Udalguri district to study hard and to keep note of matters science & technology, nature & wildlife and to try to solve a few problems of their own for a better future.
