Strike disrupts surface communication

Surface communication remains heavily disrupted in Assam along with other parts of the country following the 12 hour general strike by the trade unions on Wednesday.

Called in protest against the anti people or anti worker policies of the NDA government, the general strike began in the state at 6 in the morning.

Leaders and workers blocked rails and roads across the state in many places in the morning forcing the authorities to reschedule many trains in Guwahati.
