Sonitpur ready to update NRC

Sonitpur is gearing up to update National Registration Certificate  from Wednesday.

According to DC Lalit Gogoi,  (NRC) based on Citizenship Act 1955 and Citizenship Rule 2003, the district administration is fully prepared for the exercise.

He said the district has 150 centres for the entire process in six phases by 2016..

The exercise would cover 158 gaon panchayats and each of the seva kendras will cover 2500 to 3000 families.
