Science training for teachers at IIT-G

The IIT-Guwahati will impart science training to around 10,000 teachers within the next couple of weeks. 

The announcement came up when Union HRD minister Smriti Irani addressed the convocation ceremony at the Dr Bhupen Hazarika Auditoriun of the institute on Monday.

She further announced Rs 1 lakh award to the teachers for introduction of curriculum.

The Chairman of Board of Governors, IIT Guwahati, Dr Rajendra Pratap Singh attended the convocation.

Altogether 1117 students – 578 Bachelor of Technology (BTech) and Bachelor of Design (BDes), 24 Master of Arts (MA), 124 Master of Science (MSc), 267 Master of Technology (MTech) and Master of Design (MDes) and 124 Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) –received their degrees at the convocation.
