Police commissionerate

The Assam government is in a process to announce police commissionerate for Guwahati.         Sources told Assamtimes that the name of the first commissioner would be finalised next week from a panel of 4 Senior Indian police service officers. According to sources, the post may go to a senior IPS officer who is working as ADGP.  The complete announcement would be made on the Republic Day.
