Police batons illegal occupants of government land in Tripura

Police charged with batons on an illegal occupant of government land as he tries to block roads and stop police from entering in Agartala, Tripura on 26-02-08. Hundreds of police personnel armed with batons, shields, tear gas and gun started gathering at the Kunjaban area right from the dawn and warned illegal occupants to evacuate the area to which the occupants attacked thus police were compelled to use of baton. 21 persons most of them women were injured and at least 42 persons were arrested.

Recently nine hundred tribal families had settled in 20 acres of land.
