Poachers killed in Kaziranga
Forest guards in Kaziranga have killed two poachers at an encounter on Saturday a day after yet another rhino was killed in the world heritage site.
The encounter took place in the morning when the guards were launching an intensified operation in search of the rhino poachers in the national park.
Two poachers were killed on the spot where two others managed to escape. Operations are going on to nab the remaining two.
The poachers killed a female adult rhino on Friday to take away the horn in the National Park.
The carcass was found at the Borboribil forest camp by the patrolling forest guards. The security forces seized five empty cartridges from the spot, he said.
