PM seeks re election to RS
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday filed his nomination for a fifth consecutive term in the Rajya Sabha from Assam even as he draws media ire for refusing to speak to the waiting reporters in Dispur.
Later he came forwards and talked to the reporters for a minute only thanking the people for continuously electing him to the Rajya Sabha for all these years.
He arrived at the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in the morning and headed straight for the state assembly to file his papers.
His win would be comfortable as the ruling Congress and its allies have 94 legislators in the 126-member assembly.
