Pacholi Mela in Guwahati

Ulubari Mahila Sak Pacholi Bebahayi Sanstha with the support of Society for Social Transformation and Environment Protection (sSTEP) is going to organize vegetable fair on June 30 at B. K. Kakoti Road, Ulubari. The fair will be open from 8.30 am to 1.30 pm. The fair is first of its kind in Guwahati.  

sSTEP is working with indigenous women vegetable vendors for last few years.  Indigenous women are supplying home grown organic vegetables through temporary huts and roadside markets. Many a times, these indigenous women have to face the atrocities of authorities by  way of terming encroachers who sits illegally to sell their produce.
