Opp ready to up ante on Sonowal

The Assam assembly is all set to resume its budget session on Monday where the Balajan bloodbath is set to put Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in a fix.

Congress and AUIDF members on the floor are fully prepared to bring an adjournment motion to discuss the bloodbath in Balajan where 14 people were killed and several others sustained injury.

But BJP, AGP and BPF members are unlikely to allow it to happen. The allegations of inadequate flood relief materials are also set to be raised in the assembly.

Notably, the assembly was adjourned for a couple of days in view of the flood scene where 38 people died and 20 lakh affected in 24 districts.
