New DSP facing APSC probe
A special court in Guwahati has allowed Dibrugarh police probing the APSC to extract specimen signature of a deputy superintendent of police to ascertain the allegations against him.
The police team on Wednesday moved the court seeking it's approval to probe the allegations against Himanta Hillol Saikia, a probationary DSP in Jorhat.
Sources told Assam Times, some marked discrepancies in Saikia’s answer scripts suggest his involvement in the scam which benefitted him. The court asked police to go ahead.
Saikia, the former television journalist has been asked to come down to the Assam Administrative Staff College in Guwahati to be questioned along with 25 other ACS, APS officers, DTOs and tax superintendents.
