NDFB(S) killed

A hardcore self style sergent major of NDFB(S) was killed at an encounter with security forces on Wednesday night at Kachugaon Ripu Reserve forest area in Kokrajhar district.

The slain militant was identified as Jounaluish Narzary @ Jangkla, who was involved in killing of Priya Basumatary in August last. A 7.65 mm pistol,a magazine,two grenade and bullets from recovered from him. 

A joint operation against militants involving Assam Police and Army was conducted in the area and expected more cache of arms would be recovered from militants, said a senior police officer.
