Naga rebels arrested in Sonari

SIVASAGAR: A section of Naga rebels has been moving in Sonari without any hindrance waiting for the much-hyped greater Nagalim just before the Christmas.

Security forces apprehended three armed Naga rebels during a combing operation in Sonari on Thursday.

Acting on a tip off, army, police and para military forces raided the Seven Star Hotel in the town where the trio were lodging.

A team of senior police officers has been interrogating them. Police claimed to have seized a pistol and some incriminating documents from their possession.

Sonari, a small town in Sivasagar district bordering Nagaland has many Naga people and the rebels want the areas to be integrated in the greater Nagalim.
