More districts in Assam!
Dispur is in a process to bifurcate Nagaon, Sonitpur districts to update the administration system.
According to Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi the big districts would be divided into smaller districts for ensuring better administration in the areas.
Gogoi told reporters on Saturday that a similar exercise would also be initiated in some subdivisions for creation of new ones.
He said that the State’s growing population demands creation of more districts and subdivisions for better administration.
