Militant diktat muffles R-Day
Major insurgent outfits operating in Assam have called for general strike on the Republic Day.
In a joint statement issued to media on Tuesday, ULFA(I), NDFB((S), KLO along with other their counterparts in other entire north eastern states announced North East bandh and general strike from January 25 midnight to evening on January 26. They urged the people of the region to boycott the day.
These outfits have asked the people not to attend the Republic Day functions in the public places, markets, cinema halls etc.
