Kurmi writes to Gogoi on assault

Mariani MLA Rupjyoti Kurmi writes to Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and Assembly Speaker Pranab Gogoi demanding a high-level inquiry into the incident where he was assaulted by CRPF jawans on Friday.

Senior police and civil officials are camping at the spot, but the situation was said to be tense though under control.

 

Jorhat Superintendent of Police Sanjukta Parashar rushed to the spot and assured the MLA of action against the policemen in question.
