Fodder industry set up in Manipur


For the first time in Manipur,with an aim to promote production of fodder, for the first time in the state, Health And Family Welfare Minister, L Jayentakumar today inaugurated a fodder factory at Changangei Uchekon in Imphal West.


He said he was really happy to know that setting up of such industrial unit would provide employment opportunities with an object to solve economic problems in the state. The banks in the state were reluctant to provide financial loan to the general public as there were no markets to sell industrial products. At this juncture, establishment of industry should be encouraged and promote, and any kind of disturbances should not be given to it.


The problems of unemployment being faced in Manipur today would be able to solve in some extend if the youths of the state toiled themselves in the fields, the Minister said during the inaugural function of M/S Agocon’sAgro Products.


Farmers in the state have been facing unwanted situation for a long time due to unavailability of fodders in many occasions and they have to spend some 10-40 crores of rupees every year to buy fodder from other states, said P kunje, Advisor, M/S Agocon’s Agro Products. The industry unit would be able to save about 25 percent of the amount spending on fodder from outside the state, added.
