Flood wrecks havoc in Dhemaji
Assam's overall flood scenario takes a grim turn on Saturday when it wrecks havoc in Dhemaji and Lakhimpur districts. This devastating flood waves come following heavy rainfall in the catchment area during the last twenty four hours.
The river Kumatia was flowing above the danger level after the area was hit by incessant rains. According to information, 20 villages have come under flood waters the Dhemaji revenue circle.
Surface communication through National Highway 52 to Arunachal Pradesh has been disrupted as a section of the highway has been submerged near Kumatia river bridge.
Top ranked district administration officials along with Dhemaji deputy commissioner P Ashok Babu have visited the affected areas and has directed the officials to provide necessary relief material to the affected people.
