Dharna in front of NEDFi Bhawan

Intellectuals, journalists and a section of senior citizens staged dharna in front of the NEDFi Bhawan on Thusday boycotting a  NHPC-sponsored seminar on the proposed big dams in Gerukamukh.     As the seminar began, the prominent citizens and KMSS leaders thronged the NEDFi Bhawan premises at 10 in the morning and staged dharna opposing the dams.               The protesters tore apart the NHPC top officials who came to them with a request to attend the seminar.           Prof Deven Dutta, Dr D C Baishya, Dr Udayaditya Bharali, Kanaksen Deka, Nitya Bora  and Akhil Gogoi made it clear that no expert from the north east was invited to the seminar.
