Coal scam: Enforcement officers arrested

GUWAHATI: The Assam police team probing the coal scam has arrested three enforcement officers of the transport department in Guwahati on Saturday.

According to information, Madhab Neog, Chittranjan Nath and Mrigen Sarma were picked up on Saturday morning to be arrested after marathon interrogation. The trio allegedly helped the coal traders run smuggling of black diamond for cash.

More officers and coal traders are likely to be arrested soon. Details awaited.
