Chirang tense; curfew clamps

Apprehending law and order breakdown after the sensational rape and murder of a tribal girl in Boldia gaon, the Chirang district administration has clamped curfew on Saturday.

The curfew in the entire area was imposed from 6-30 in the evening when some of the local residents tried to call it the beginning of the riot-rerun.

A section of the local residents told Assam Times that a circle of the youths belonging to a particular community have been trying to foment trouble in the area.
