Car sale ban: Whose initiative

She is none other than Rita Das Mozumdar who moved the court seeking its intervention to stop the sale of small four wheelers without crash-test clearance.

The 50 year old Mozumdar owns a Hyundai Eon, Maruti Suzuki Ritz and Mahindra Xylo, filed a PIL contending that small passenger cars manufactured do not conform to safety standards.
