Amid an escalating tension along the Assam-Nagaland border in Golaghat district the All Tai Ahom Students Union activists in Amguri burnt the effigy of Union home minister Rajnath Singh for not settling the border row.

Hundreds of ATASU activists thronged the Amguri town on Tuesday and shouted slogans against the Centre for not doing enough to solve the decade old border row.

The protest assumed significance a week after the Naga miscreants killed at least 13 people and torched 50 houses in Uriamghat area in Golaghat district bordering Nagaland.
