Arunachal students hits Delhi streets

Students from Arunachal Pradesh hit the streets the New Delhi on Friday in protest against the Supreme Court's judgment granting citizenship to Chakma and Hajong refugees from Bangladesh living in the north eastern state.

Holding placards in their hands, hundreds joined the protest organized by the All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union while some others shouting slogans not to make the state a dumping ground of refugees.

Protesters told Assam Times that they have been tolerating injustice for years. “China repeatedly claims Arunachal Pradesh. The Centre’s defence is not strong. We are upholding patriotism. Now we don’t know what would be our next course of action,” said a protestor.
