Akhil Gogoi released

Police have finally released Akhil Gogoi 10 hours after the KMSS leader was picked up for staging dharna in front of CJM court in Guwahati.

Flanked by hundreds of his supporters, Gogoi staged dharna opposing anticipatory bail to businessmen Suresh Prithani, Ramavtar Burhakiya and Sanjoy Lohia who have allegedly misused hectres of plots on Guwahati and the adjoining areas alloted to them for business purpose.

 

Gogoi was initially taken to the Panbazar Police Station and then he was shifted to the Sonapur Police station where he was released in the eveining under intense pressure from the KMSS activists.
