AASU on day long hunger strike

AASU leaders and activists across the state were on a day long hunger strike on Saturday demanding the visit of a central team to the violence-hit Assam-Nagaland border areas.

The 12 hour-long hunger strike began at 6 in the morning in all district and sub divisional headquarters and ended at 6 in the evening.

Other demands include proper rehabilitation of the affected families in Uriamghar, replacement of CRPF currently on duty from the interstate border, deployment of Assam police for strict vigil and shifting of top administrative officials.
