Pawan, Gaurav to get tickets

Union minister Pawan Singh Ghatowar will contest from Dibrugarh while Gaurav Gogoi is set to contest in Kaliabor seat in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

AICC sources told Assam Times that 90 per cent sitting MPs are set to get ticket. Chaired by SK Shinde at his residence, the screening panel has prepared the panels of three candidates for Tezpur, Mongoldoi and Silchar.

AICC general secretary in charge of Assam Dr CP Joshi, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and APCC president Bhubneswar Kalita are present in the meeting.

The prepared list would be handed over to Sonia Gandhi for seal of approval in a day or two. The list would contain the candidates for 12 seats. The party won’t field any candidate in Kokrajhar. Panel of candidates for Guwahati would be prepared later.
