The Assam government will order a CBI probe in to the recent mob violence at Beltola, Guwahati.
Disclosing this, Assam Chief Minister said on Saturday that the CBI probe will unearth what went wrong. Gogoi further admitted failure in police administration.
According to the Chief Minister the situation is under control.
“The Centre is actively considering our recommendation for scheduling altogether six communities,” he said.

I am ashamed by the gruesome atrocity that happened in Beltola, specially with that woman. What happened to the Assamese people and their culture? People like us, who leaves away from their homeland, are most affected by this kind of news. We portray ourselves as the most tolerant people, where people from different ethnicity and religion have been living in harmony. Its hard to believe that things like this and dowry has crept into our society. The State Government, and also, the people of Assam should take immediate action to these kind of menace, and see that no further incidence of these brutalities to women ever happens again.

The All Assam Adivasi Students Association gives a 48 hour deadline for the government to clear the whereabouts of 32 protesters who they claim, have been missing from the violence spot on the Shameful Saturday. Earlier, the government asked for the list of those missing protesters to ascertain the veracity of their claim. Amid a watertight security arrangement, seventy five percent voters exercised their franchise in the first phase of polls in the North Cachar Hills district on Monday. An eerie silence is prevailing in the Beltola area a day after the mob violence that killed several people and that too in full view of the police.
