Wild elephants kill two more in Udalguri
One Krishna Das (34) son of late Suthu Das of Khoira jungle village under Paneri Police Station was killed by wild elephant at Khoira jungle at 10 PM on October 24. In a separate incident another Lorentus Minj (64),head cook of the Manager of Nonaipar TE under Dimakuchi Police Station was trampled to death at section No. 16 in Nonaipar TE at around 9.30 PM on the same night.Both the killed persons were returning home after days work. Agitated villagers blocked the MB road in front of Paneri PS in the morning of October 25 demanding immediate payment of compensation to the victims.

A minor girl dead and dozen others fell ill after they consumed prasad served at a religious function in Udalguri district on Friday. The tragic incident took place in Kalaigaon area where a ten year old girl died early in the morning. At least 71 others have complained of stomach ace and vomitting hours after they consumed prasad. The deceased was identified as Dipsikha Nath who died at the Mangaldai Civil Hospital. Talking to media, ADC DN Hazariaka said that the incident took place hours after they consumed prasad at the house of Harakanta Nath on Wednesday.
